Painted Sky. Photo By Aaron Pryor
By Aaron Pryor
This shot was taken at Flynn’s Beach, Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia.
The colours in this shot didnt last to long so i had to act very quick, i still wanted the movement in the water so i add a cir pol filter to add more colour and a slower shutter speed.

]]>I took this shot on Hendaya, french city near Spain around Basque Country famous for been the meeting point between Hitler and Franco on World War 2.
I took it on december 26, a frozen sunday perfect for go for a walk along the beach, the sky was wonderful with beautiful clouds, I tryed to find a piece of sand full of footprints, then I wait until the sun was near the horizon and nobody was walking near. I configured my camera braketting settings on 1/20, 1/40, 1/80 to obtain a HDR image.
At home I merged the three images with photomatix, then I tryed to obtain a nice colour on photoshop but I wasn’t really sure about what I got and finally decided to process it with a degradation map..

“es pontàs “(the big bridge) is one of the most beautiful and quiet island of Majorca, surrounded by cliffs i beautiful beaches.
I decided to go make a picture at night and even the full moon did not help achieve what I wanted (large red herring mine) … I had to concentrate on enjoying the moonlight and the possibilities offered me.
The photo is taken with a Canon EOS 7D, with a 18-135, Giottos tripod, timer remote and the rock was illuminated with a flash and a large flashlight…….

This picture was taken in Córdoba during a rainy day. I figured it would be a great opportunity to get a nice HDR made with 5 exposures, 2 of them taken with a ND8 cokin filter to get this effect on the sky and blended with photomatix. After that I used photoshop CS5 to work at the mosque and improve the levels with a local work (I had subexposed places). Later the noise was cleaned with Neat Image pluggin.

The title is in Welsh, and means ‘towards the light’. The beach is one of my favorite places. Two abandoned boats lie here. The one you see is only accessible at low tide. That morning, I was up at 4 a.m. to take a short drive from my house, followed by a 15 minute walk, to get to the boat. It remains one of my favoite photos to date.
I started taking pictures when I was 16, but left my hobby alone after finishing college. The interest was rekindled on my 40th birthday with my first digital s.l.r. Then, in August 2010, I upgraded my camera to a Canon 7D with Canon’s 10-22mm lens. With my new gear, I have started taking landscapes of the Isle of Anglesey, off the coast of North Wales. I hope to continue with this project for the forseeable future. Anglesey has many beautiful locations, with the four seasons each bringing their own light in turn.

“Waalbrug (snelbinder)” By Tim Freh
I am always inspired by dark settings and night photography. My father was the who taught me how to use a DSLR at night during my younger years . I tried to make some originial nightshots, but just to be original is hard. People make shots like these objects every day. Therefore I wanted to create a new effect. I bought a fisheye (sigma 15mm), wich had a really nice fisheye-effect. And the colours of the night are really good photographed with this kind of lenses. I couldn’t reach the same effect with an classic lens. So I kept using this fisheye even more, also in situations like the Waalbrug.
I study in Nijmegen were the Snelbinder is situated. During a really sad day I asked my girlfriend if she would join me on a photo session. Normally she stays home, but this time she said yes and since it was raining I asked her to take the umbrella with us too. We went to the bridge, luckily there was no one around. I made a quick composition, but the pictures didn’t worked out. I wanted to leave but then I made this last picture. Because I forgot my led-light, I used my girlfriends mobile phone. Her Mobile phone has an application wich sends a torch-light. The light isn’t that strong, but it was good enough to create this effect.
I asked my girlfriend to stay still 30 second, with the umbrella. During those 30 seconds I created the circles with her phone. It worked out well en we went directly home.
That’s the whole story. If you look on my blog www.timfreh.wordpress.com you see that my photographing style is always a bit ”dark”. I use lightroom, but I hate my time behind the computer. I love photography much better.
In the future I hope to give an expo about my photowork. I did not see my pictures on paper yet, only digital. I think that is a bad thing, because more people should be able to see my pictures. Also older people who don’t have a computer. I had some successes, but I’m glad so many people see my image right now. It makes me very proud.
I photograph with an 5D canon camera. I always use a not expensive Velbon Tripod. Very simple, but it works. I don’t have the money for expensive stuff. Although I am working for it.

”This home is located on a road that lies between two villages one in which my grandma lives. I often pass along this route but I don’t often find the time and courage to photograph this house. But when I finally had the courage, the weather isn’t so permitting and the wind was so strong and without a tripod it was too much for me and my Canon 450d to handle even at ISO 800.
The second time I finally decided to bring along my tripod and set up the shot. This is the final result of the shot. I did three different exposures at ISO200 and after that everything was merged in Photomatix and finished in Photoshop CS5. Equipment I used is Canon 450d and Sigma 17-70.”

I didn’t take this shot, I came across this awesome photo while browsing photos in flickr. My first reaction when I saw this, was “holy s(:-})”.
A good 2 minutes underwater and it is squeaky clean and good as new. KIDS…DON’T try this at home. I left this one extra large so you could really check it out. And before you ask, I will tell you now that this image is 100% unedited, with the exception of sharpening, straight out of the camera.
