Daily Photo – Bee On The Job for Bee Thursday
May 15, 2014
I shot this in one of my daily hikes. Spring is just an exciting time for me, this is when our buggy friends come out to enjoy the weather and feast on different kinds of flowers and plants. Like this Bee who was really working on that flower.
I shot this with my Canon EOS 60D with the excellent macro lens from Tamron, the AF 180mm F/3.5 SP. I did a review on this lens a while back. You can find it here if you want to check it out. This is just an excellent macro lens. Photo was shot in a bright sunny day, Aperture Priority, F/6.3, 1/500 ISO 100. I shot in AV because I was more concern on what is in focus, and since it was bright, I know that the in camera meter will give me a fast enough shutter speed, and the lowest iso.
In post I use Lightroom to enhance the photo, like adjust the exposure a bit, and extract some detail. I have a preset that does this all to me. You download the LR5 Preset here. You may just have to tweak it to fit your needs.
Below is the before and after screenshot. You will notice the difference between the original raw file and the one enhance with the LR5 preset.
