Up Close With Nature – Taking Photos of Insects and Bugs.

Canon EOS 60D with Tamron AF 28-75mm F/2.8 SP Lens. Shot in Aperture Priority @ 1/800, ISO 100, F/4, 75mm.

Here are some simple tips to get a nice nature close-up:

  • Blur the background by using a wide aperture, this will make your subject pop from the rest.
  • You don’t have to go far to take photos of insects and other nature wildlife, walk around your neighborhood and you’ll be surprised on what you may find.
  • You don’t need to have a dedicated macro lens, a nice telephoto would be sufficient.
