Favorite Photos From Last Nights Pre Season Football Game

It was a rainy football night between Orange Park and Bishop Kenny, I almost decided not to shoot the game, but I did, and it was a lot of fun.  It’s hard to shoot in the rain especially when working with two cameras, so I decided to use the Canon EOS 7D with the EF 70-200mm F/2.8 protected with a OP/TECH USA Rainsleeve – 18-Inch.

Shooting at the Orange Park field in the rain can be tricky, combined with the stadium that is not evenly lit. I set my 7d to shoot in Manual, ISO set to Auto , but I have to bump up my ISO ceiling  to 6400 , Aperture set to F/2.8 on my 70-200mm. With this settings, all I have to worry now my shutter speed. I started at  1/1000 in the first half of the game and then it varies from 320 to 640 during the night.  I did managed to get some descent shots that night.

I’m really glad I had the chance to shoot this Pre Season opener, after  months of shooting bugs and insects my timing is a little, this game gave me a chance to practice and synchronize my timing a little bit. I’m hoping to get better photos next game.

Next week, I’m shooting Orange Park  and the Ridgeview High School here in the same field .
