Favorite Shots From Last Night’s Football Game

Last nights game between Orange Park and Oakleaf was played at the Oakleaf Stadium, the lights there were awesomely bright compare to Orange Park’s stadium, which of course is every sports photographers dream. Given the better light, I was able to capture some interesting images out of my 400 F/5.6, of course there are noise but, that’s to be expected, including on my 70-200mm F/2.8. (The photo above was shot with the EF 400mm F/5.6L.)

Here’s another one from the Ef 400mm F/5.6L. You’ll notice that in most of the shots, my ISO is at 6400 but last night, I was able to shoot at shutter speeds 1/500 or 1/400, faster than my other previous games, thanks to the bright stadium lights. If these were shot in the other stadium, @ 1/500 it will be dark and 1/320 isn’t enough.

I almost miss this shot, I was talking to a photographer friend of mine when this happen, thank goodness I was quick enough to draw my 7d and captured him in mid-air. That is pure luck. Shot with the Eos 7d and EF 70-200mm F/2.8L

That was a really exciting game. I’m looking forward to next weeks game. Clay will play Orange Park at the Orange Park Stadium at 7PM.
