It’s Football Season Once Again
August 22, 2013
Yes!!! It’s football season once again. This is my second season shooting football and I’m really excited. Last year was a great year, and this year I feel, will be better a one. I’m determined to get more exciting and compelling sports photos.
I’m gonna be shooting with my old gear, the Canon EOS 7D as my primary body with the EF 70-200mm F/2.8L Lens, my Canon EOS 60d as my second body, with the EF 400mm F/5.6L, I’m also shooting with my lovely ultra wide angle lens the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 usm, and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. This year I’m use the rokinon 8mm fisheye for really close up shot and coaching huddle..
I’m planning to utilize my 400mm F/5.6 this season, and use in the early hours of the game and concentrate with the 70-200mm F/2.8L in the 2nd half when it gets really dark. I didn’t use the 400mm much last year because being a 5.6L it is really slow and not suitable for night time sports, but we’ll see. I bought the Canon EF 40mm F/5.6L two years ago for birds and wildlife photography and not for sports/football, but since I have it I thought of just using it and I will push it’s limits and see how it performs. I’m also looking at the EF 300mm F/4L IS which is an excellent option for a budget sport shooter like me given the faster fixed aperture of F/4.
I will post photos of the games so check back soon.
