_MG_2999Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. I have finally decided to sell my Canon EF 70-210mm and posted it on eBay for $155, this includes shipping and handling, and on Saturday at 11PM, it was sold.

When I got this lens over a year ago, I said, I wasn’t going to sell it. It’s a keeper, I use it more than I used my Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM Lens . It’s a great all around lens. I used it around the house, it’s the lens attached to my 20d every time I go for a morning or afternoon stroll and I want to take a telephoto instead of the 50mm. It’s light, easy to carry around and it takes great pictures.

Taken using a Canon EF 70-200mm F/4 IS USM Lens

Some have asks if a telephoto lens can be use in macro photography. The answer is certainly yes. The photo above was taken on a foggy summer morning using a Canon EF 70-200mm F/4 IS USM Lens. Although it’s not a real macro but a closeup, using a telephoto lens in these type of situations can really change the way we see things up-close.

I just got the Canon EF 70-210mm F/4 lens and really wanted to try it out. I used to have a Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro, but didn’t get a chance to shoot bird photos with it.

After much thought and deliberation, I finally decided to sell my fix F/4 aperture EF 70-210mm F/4 Macro Lens for a flat price of $150.00. This includes free shipping and handling. This is way below the price compared to those that are currently for sale on eBay.

This is a great lens, it produces great quality images for an affordable price. This lens as you can see in the photo above have the gold JCII inspection stickers, lenses exported from Japan should have this stickers. It is in great shape, has minimal wear, and produces great image quality. You can check all the images taken with this lens below.

The first thing I want you to remember is that the moon is very bright, therefore nightime exposure isn’t the answer.

Birds at the DC Capitol Pond, originally uploaded by sweetspot@f8.

Truly patience is your best friend when dealing with fast moving subjects while using an old lens.

Taken with a Canon Rebel XS with the EF 70-210mm F/4.

RinglingBrothers-193Yesterday I had the opportunity to watch the Ringling Bros. Circus. I brought my Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 VC, EF 85mm F/1.8 and my only telephoto the EF 70-210mm F/4 Macro. 90% of the  time I was using the EF 70-210mm, the 85mm was sleeping in the bag all time.

I was impressed with the performance of the EF 70-210mm F/4, with it, I was able to take photos that wasn’t just possible with the Tamron 17-50mm, because of the distance.  All the photos on this post are of the 70-210mm and none of them were post processed, they came straight from the SD Card imported to my lightroom library and uploaded to flickr.

One Spring Afternoon, originally uploaded by sweetspot@f8.

I was confined inside the house all week because of a heel injury. It prevented me from moving and doing a lot of things, including taking photos, but yesterday, when I look at the window I saw the this tree right out my windows and can’t really resist the beauty Welcome Spring 2010. This is the photo taken a week ago.of the flowers that are full-blown. Last week when I last saw them they were just tiny little buds and now they look so beautiful especially with the color of the afternoon sun shining at them giving them this beautiful color of life.
