I wonder why some people complain about dust issues with the EF-S 17-55mm F/2.8 IS USM. I have not seen even one photo of it. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s fairly common for zoom lenses specially these consumer grade lenses to have a tiny dust specs inside. I don’t own the EF-S 17-55 F/2.8 but I have read a lot of good reviews and seen photos taken with this lens, it’s a great lens, but still a consumer EF-S grade lens. When you buy this lens, you pay for the optical quality, IS, and a fairly good construction, but you don’t pay for weather, dust sealing like what you’ll find on an L quality glass, that’s why there’s the L high grade quality lenses.
Just my 2 cents.
