Colours

I used to ask the same question myself when I was new to photography, but lately I’ve been seeing things that can be a good subject for macro shots. Macro photography is all about getting close to the subject capturing an image that most of us don’t see unless we look closer and pay attention to it.

Can’t find a good subject for your macro photography project? Here are a few tips:

  • Look around you. Maybe you have some coins lying around.
  • Check the kitchen. Fruits like oranges, kiwis, strawberries etc. are good subjects.
  • Go outside, look for insects, bugs, trees, leaves.
  • There are endless subjects, all you have to do is look closer and you can make excellent pictures.

And you really shouldn’t worry about the gear, most point and shoot camera can take good macro shots and are just enough for most subjects, the important thing is to enjoy photography, have fun and keep on shooting.

The photo above was taken using a the Sony DSC-T20 point and shoot camera. Please the details below:
Camera: Sony DSC-T20
Exposure: 0.167 sec (1/6)
Aperture: f/4.3
Focal Length: 17.7 mm
ISO Speed: 80
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Here are some of my recent macro shots:
